Sen. Rerras Is Frequent Presence on Shore

On Aug. 11, the Town of Melfa celebrated with its annual picnic in the park. What a great day it turned out to be! The weather was cool, with a slight breeze. The mayor and her contingent of helpers provided excellent refreshments, games for the children, and all the other amenities associated with such a gala affair.

It was a particular pleasure to see our very own state senator, Nick Rerras. It is not unusual to see the senator attending Shore events. He has embraced the Shore and its people and is among us throughout the year, whether in person, through our local newspapers and radio, or through his staff. Sen. Rerras has directly participated in the enactment of more than a dozen pieces of legislation affecting the Eastern Shore alone.

I have enormous respect for what the senator has accomplished and what he continues to stand for - both in Richmond and locally. We are fortunate indeed to have Nick Rerras representing the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
